I’m My Own Earbud: Listening to Music Through Your Teeth

Sat, Aug 23 / 1–4 pm

Aisen Caro Chacin

Most of us use earbuds and other headphones to listen to music and radio via our MP3 players, but did you know that the human body can be its own speaker? Join technologist and artist Aisen Caro Chacin, whose work is on view as part of MAD’s exhibition NYC Makers: The MAD Biennial, for this drop-in, hands-on making workshop. Chacin will help visitors create their own device to play the audio of their iphone or other MP3 player through their teeth and jawbone. The surprising result showcases how new emerging technologies remake how we encounter our everyday experiences.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
