Tzuri Gueta, a graduate of Shenkar College in Tel Aviv, is a designer and textile engineer who has been based in Paris since 1996. He diverts textile fibers to unconventional uses, constantly pushing them further in their plastic qualities. After Gueta’s first decisive encounter with silicone, it quickly became his material of choice. He invented a patented technique that mixes it with fabric, founded a company, Silka Design, and began to produce his own line of jewelry. This interplay between textile and silicone results in a determinedly modern collection with a natural look and feel, inspired by the worlds of plant and marine life. Gueta’s jewelry tricks the senses, creating discrepancies between what the eye sees and what the hand touches.
