Art Alive in Craft Front & Center

Sat, Jun 19 / 12–2 pm

Join us for Art Alive, a drop-in gallery visit and art-making experience for general audiences that takes place every Saturday and Sunday. Artist-educators on the floor facilitate discussions of a single artwork or group of artworks in an exhibition and lead gallery-friendly, art-making activities focusing on sustainable and upcycled materials. Art Alive is free with museum admission and open to all ages. Discussions and activities are ongoing, so visitors can join at any time between 12 and 2 pm and stay as long as they like. The program is offered in accordance with the Museum’s safe social-distancing practices.

This Saturday, find us on Floor 5 in Craft Front & Center, where 2020 Artist Studios resident Kazue Taguchi will be facilitating discussions of Colleen Smith's Pigeons Are Black Doves and showing visitors how to make mini-flags referencing the symbolism of the 1997 Juneteenth flag.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
