How can I buy or renew a membership?
Memberships can be purchased online, at the Visitor Services desk in the Museum lobby, in The Store at MAD, or by calling the Membership Office at 212.299.7721, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:30 am and 5:30 pm.
Is MAD membership tax-deductible?
Tax deductibility varies based on membership level. Below are the tax-deductible amounts for each level:
Student ($50): $50
Individual ($100): $100
Dual ($150): $150
Studio Member ($250): $200
Gallery Member ($500): $450
Patron ($1,500): $1,350
Patron Program ($2,500): $2,300
Collection Patron ($5,000): $4,600
Council Patron ($10,000): $9,300
I just joined MAD. What happens next?
If you recently joined or renewed an existing membership, you will receive an acknowledgment letter and a membership card in the mail within 3 weeks. Studio Members ($250) and above receive a membership card with a special sticker allowing reciprocal admission benefits at 650 museums nationwide.
I am a Member. Do I need to reserve tickets to visit the Museum?
Yes. The health and safety of our Members, visitors, and staff are of the upmost importance. To ensure your preferred time and day, please reserve your timed tickets online in advance of your visit. You can reserve your tickets using your email address or your Membership ID number. If you need assistance, please contact us at members@madmuseum.org.
I just purchased my membership online/over the phone. How can I get into the Museum before my cards arrive?
After you purchase a membership online or over the phone, we email you a confirmation. Simply check in at the Visitor Services desk in the Museum lobby with your confirmation or valid photo ID, and pick up a temporary day pass.
For how long is my membership valid?
Memberships are valid for one year from the end of the month in which you joined. For instance, if you joined in May, your membership will not expire until May 31 of the following year. If you do not renew your membership before the end of the month, you will enter a two-month grace period. During this time, you will receive three letters in the mail and two electronic reminders to renew.
Does MAD discounted membership to people with disabilities?
Yes, MAD offers people with disabilities a $15 discount on Individual and Dual Memberships. For more information, please call the membership office at 212.299.7732.
I lost my membership card. How can I get a replacement card?
To request a new card, call the Membership Office at 212.299.7721, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:30 am and 5:30 pm, or email members@madmuseum.org.
How do I update my contact information?

Can the cost of Museum admission be applied toward a membership?
Yes, the cost of your admission may be applied toward a membership purchase on the same day. A Visitor Services staff member will be happy to help you.
As a member, what discounts do I receive at the Museum?
Members receive a 10% discount on purchases in The Store at MAD. Gallery Members receive a 15% discount at The Store. Luminaries and Patron Members and above receive a 20% discount in The Store. All members receive a 10% discount at our restaurant Robert temporarily closed) from 3 to 5 pm, as well as discounts on all public programs.
How can I upgrade my membership?
You can upgrade your membership at any time during your annual membership cycle. Just call the Membership Office at 212.299.7732, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:30 am and 5:30 pm.
How many general admission guest passes do I receive with my membership?
Studio Members receive two general admission guest passes to share with family and friends. Gallery Members and above receive four guest passes. Guest passes will be mailed in your welcome packet when you join or renew.
Do you offer reciprocal memberships with other museums?
Yes. Studio Members and above receive admission benefits at more than 650 other museums nationwide.
What does my membership contribution support?
Your membership contribution supports the Museum's exhibitions and education programs. Members make all these things possible—thank you!
