Studio Sunday

Sun, Mar 6, 2016

Visitors of all ages will learn about textiles at this hands-on workshop. MAD’s Educators will guide participants in the creation of a God’s Eye, a spiritual object woven with yarn, as well as other weaving and needlepoint techniques. This special textile edition of Studio Sunday is being held at the same time as KNITTING NATION 15, a site-specific installation and live performance project that will transform MAD’s lobby into a knitting and weaving factory. Artist Liz Collins and her crew will create a continuous soft wall that grows in height as the day progresses, revealing the rich dynamic between textiles and architecture.

Studio Sunday, held once monthly, offers countless opportunities to learn and make. These intergenerational workshops allow families to work with teaching artists. Each Studio Sunday workshop is unique, and open to anyone ages 6 and up.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
