Designing Motherhood: Artist Focus

Tue, Feb 24 / 12 pm EST via Zoom

Artist Focus: Corinne May Botz and Ani Liu

In conjunction with Designing Motherhood: Things That Make and Break Our Births, MAD presents a virtual conversation between Corinne May Botz and Ani Liu, two artists whose work is currently on view as part of the exhibition.   Moderated by the exhibition's co-curator, Elizabeth Koehn, the program considers the acts of labor that go into both artmaking and motherhood: addressing topics such as representation, identity, care work, and community. During the hour-long program, attendees will hear from Ani and Corinne about their respective artistic practices, including their works on display at MAD, and reflections from both artists on their experience participating in the Designing Motherhood exhibition as it has traveled the country and beyond. Time will be held at the end of the program for audience questions and comments, when we invite attendees to share their own experiences and reflections on the topics discussed.

The webinar link will be shared 2 days prior to the event via email.
