Crochet Necklaces with Omi Gray

Wed, Nov 8 / 6–8 pm

Join Harlem-based teaching artist and designer Omi Gray in MAD's studio classroom and learn how to craft a shimmering necklace with a crochet hook, fine wire, and beads. Bead and wire crochet jewelry is a stunning art form that blends the refinement of classic crochet with the brilliance and shine of beads. Some crochet or knitting experience is suggested for this workshop but is not required.

This workshop is for ages 16 and up.

About the artist

Omi Gray is a multifaceted teaching artist living in Harlem. Primarily, the materials she uses are gifts found in nature. She teaches a variety of workshops throughout the tri-state area on botanical printing, nuno felting, and free-form weaving, and bead/wire crochet. Gray's Harlem design studio is within walking distance from Central Park. You can be sure to find her in "Nature’s Art Studio," Central Park, collecting leaves and even weaving on her portable floor loom.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
