Join artist and Van Lier Fellow Lexy Ho-Tai to create a Kooker—a wild and wacky creature from a mysterious, playful, faraway world. Thinking about the body and using the imagination, participants will collaboratively construct large-scale puppets and costumes using found and recycled materials. Feel free to bring discarded materials from home (old clothes, bottles, cans, random trinkets, etc.) for repurposing.

At 10:30 am, join us for MADreads, which combines interactive story time and visual exploration to bring books to life. This week’s iteration welcomes kids and their families for a reading of the beloved children’s book Where the Wild Things Are, by Maurice Sendak.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
