Extraordinary visionaries are changing lives around the globe--with ideas ranging from microbe-powered dirt batteries to solar-powered camel-transported refrigerators. Join us to hear from biologists, inventors and engineers whose scientific innovations are addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Presenters

Wole Soyobeyo is an Engineer and Designer from Princeton whose team invented a solar-powered camel-transported refrigerator made out of bamboo.

Hugo Van Vuuren launched The Laboratory at Harvard, a program for idea experimentation in the arts and sciences. He’s received awards and press for his dirt-powered battery design.

Pamela Ronald is a designer on the molecular level. Her laboratory at UC Davis has genetically engineered rice that is resistant to diseases and flooding.
