MADmakes with Jesse Harrod

Thu, Sep 13 / 6–8 pm

Join artist-in-residence Jesse Harrod to explore drawing through stitch. Working with large needles on burlap, participants will learn mark making with yarn and thread, along with other basic embellishment techniques. This workshop provides an accessible entry point into embroidery, moving away from the technical difficulty often associated with the craft in order to explore it as an experimental process.

Led by MAD’s artists-in-residence, MADmakes is a drop-in, hands-on series where visitors can test their skills at art making and creative production. MADmakes provides an opportunity for visitors to better understand and appreciate the workmanship that goes into contemporary studio practice today. Visitors of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels are invited to create something new every month.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
