MADmakes with Anna Riley

Thu, Jun 21, 2018

Join Artist Studios Program alum and exhibiting artist Anna Riley to experiment with the mold-and-deckle papermaking process, using traditional fibers and non-traditional inclusions. Visitors are invited to utilize unconventional materials such as beads, ribbon, and slips of fabric to create meaning. Riley hopes that in the process of making thin sheets of paper, participants will rethink materials and consider how they can be used and manipulated.

Led by artists-in-residence in MAD’s Artist Studios Program, MADmakes is a drop-in, hands-on series where visitors can test their skills at art making and creative production. MADmakes provides an opportunity for visitors to better understand and appreciate the workmanship that goes into contemporary studio practice today. Visitors of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels are invited to create something new every month.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
