Navigating Identity and Tradition in Contemporary Craft

Join some of the most exciting young American artists working today for gallery conversations inspired by their work on view in Burke Prize 2019. The exhibition presents the work of the finalists for the Museum’s juried prize, which recognizes an artist’s extraordinary achievements in craft. The discussions will be moderated by the exhibition’s curators Angelik Vizcarrondo-Laboy and Samantha De Tillio.   

2 pm: Helen Lee, Indira Allegra, Lauren Kalman, Bojana Ginn, Sarah Zapata

3 pm: Amber Cowan, Elizabeth Alexander, Julie Schenkelberg, Jaydan Moore, Sophia Narrett

6 pm: Linda Lopez, Salvador Jimenez-Flores, Tanda Frances, Sara Rahbar, Raven Halfmoon

Visitors who use a wheelchair or who require seating are encouraged to contact the Education department least 24 hours in advance to receive accommodations in the galleries.
