Museum Hours
MAD is open from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm from Tuesday to Sunday. On Thursday and Friday, the Museum is open until 9:00 pm
Docent Tours
There are docent tours daily at 11:30 am and 3:00 pm, as well as 6:30 pm on Thursday evenings. Docent tours are free with admission and meet in the lobby.
Artist Studios
The Artist Studios are open daily from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm, as well as 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Thursdays and Fridays.

The Museum of Arts and Design is currently recruiting volunteer docents to facilitate engaging gallery tours for adult audiences. Candidates from a wide range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply as MAD strives to build a docent corps that fully represents the diversity of the New York City community.

Learn how to create open-faced molds with artist-in-residence Mimi Bai. Visitors will imprint a variety of textiles and patterns into clay using their fingers and simple clay tools, and then learn how to mix and pour plaster to cast their own creations.
